We encourage our guests to to find the quickest route to Highway 169. It is a great Highway with a lot of scenery and places to stop along the way. There really isn't a quicker route. Take Highway 169 N around Mille Lacs Lake to Aitkin and continue on to Hill City. The turn off to Sugar Lake is County Road 17, it is 10 miles North of Hill City. Follow Highway 17 just 5 miles and turn left at the Sugar Lake Lodge sign and follow our signs to the main lodge.
